Great news: Avgas 100LL supply secured until 2032

According to AOPA Newsletter No. 385 of 18.07.2025, Shell's application for the continued production of Avgas 100LL until April 2032 has been approved and therefore a legal basis exists for the secure supply of fuel that relies on Avgas 100LL.

The vote took place in the EU's REACH committee. REACH stands for “European Regulation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals” and the committee is part of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) based in Helsinki.

The applications of two other manufacturers, WARTER Fuels and TRAFIGURA (Puma Energy), are also currently in the authorization process and were also submitted to the REACH committee in June. It is expected that these will be voted on in the coming weeks and that a positive decision will also be made.
